Blind Spot Detection

Blind Spot Detection

WARNING: Blind Spot Detection should not be used as a replacement for checking the interior and exterior mirrors or looking over your shoulder before attempt to change lanes. It is the driver's obligation to stay alert, pay careful attention to the traffic situation, and take action if necessary.

WARNING: Blind Spot Detection may not cover an extended blind spot zone due to a trailer attached to a detected vehicle.

Blind Spot Detection uses radar to monitor for objects in the vehicle’s blind spots, as well as fast-approaching vehicles from any adjacent rear lanes. If an object is detected, the system provides visual alerts.

If you engage the turn signal in the direction of a detected collision threat, Blind Spot Detection alerts you visually and audibly.

Blind Spot Detection settings

Select > Safety > Blind Spot Detection and Side Collision Mitigation on the Central Touchscreen, and press to turn this feature On or Off. Additional settings are available when the feature is On:

  • Detect Obstacles configures the detection sensitivity of approaching vehicles from the rear.

  • Alert Types allows you to choose whether to receive only visual alerts or visual and audible alerts.
