Pulling the Vehicle onto a Trailer or Transporter
CAUTION: The recovery eye should ONLY be used for pulling the vehicle onto a flatbed trailer when it is on a level surface. Using the recovery eye for any other purpose may cause significant damage to the vehicle.
CAUTION: Under no circumstances should the vehicle be towed using the vehicle recovery eye.
CAUTION: Do not use the recovery eye to pull the vehicle out of a ditch or if the vehicle is at an angle.
CAUTION: Failure to install the recovery eye correctly could result in the recovery eye pulling out of the mount on the vehicle, causing significant damage.
Your vehicle is supplied with a vehicle recovery eye located in the under floor trunk box.
The recovery eye can be installed to either the front or the rear of the vehicle.
To install the recovery eye:
Location of front attachment point
Front attachment point
Location of rear attachment point
Rear attachment point

Release the cover from either the attachment point in the front grille or the rear bumper.

Position the recovery eye through the bumper and rotate it clockwise into the attachment point on the body until it is fully seated.

Attach the winch cable to the recovery eye.

Pull the vehicle slowly onto the trailer or transporter.
Note: After using the recovery eye, remember to store it back in the trunk and to install the cover on the attachment point.
Winching a vehicle with power
If the vehicle has power and the gear can be set to N (Neutral) for the wheels to roll freely, use the tow eye to winch onto the flatbed.
Winching a vehicle with no power
If the vehicle has no power and the Electronic Parking Brake is engaged, use skid pads or skates on all four wheels and nylon straps on the lower control arms.
