Power Usage

Power Usage

On the Driver Display, the background has a ripple effect that changes depending on whether the drive system is using or regenerating power. As you drive, the ripple changes as follows:

When using power, the ripple is amber in color and moves outward.

When gaining power through regeneration, the ripple is blue in color and moves inward.

The ripple wavelength (i.e., space between ripples) decreases as gained power increases, while the ripple amplitude (i.e., height of ripples) increases or decreases with the vehicle’s speed. See Regenerative Braking.
