Preparing the Vehicle for Transportation
Preparing the Vehicle for Transportation
CAUTION: In the unlikely situation in which the vehicle’s electrical systems are not functioning and the parking brake cannot be disengaged, wheeled dollies or skid pads must be used under the rear wheels to prevent damage to the vehicle.
-
For flatbed transporters, skates or dollies are required on all four wheels.
-
For a front-end suspended lift, dollies are required on both rear wheels.
Using skates, dollies, or wheel lifts
If you are unable to shift the gear into N (Neutral), the wheels must be lifted onto skates, dollies, or a transporter wheel lift.
-
Chock the wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling.
-
Attach the vehicle to the transporter winch using the recovery eye or nylon straps. See Pulling the Vehicle onto a Trailer or Transporter.
-
Lift the wheels using skates, dollies, or wheel lifts.
For flatbed transporters, skates or dollies are required on all four wheels.
For a front-end suspended lift, dollies are required on both rear wheels.

With the wheels off the ground, the vehicle can be positioned for loading onto the transporter.
