Using the Compressor

Using the Compressor

WARNING: Tire pressures should always be checked using an accurate pressure gauge when COLD. The pressure gauge on the compressor should not be relied upon as being accurate.

CAUTION: To avoid overheating, do not use the compressor continuously for more than eight minutes. Allow the compressor to cool for 15 minutes between uses.

CAUTION: If the compressor runs slowly, it has overheated from excessive use. Switch Off and allow to cool.

  1. Connect the filling hose to the compressor.

  2. Ensure that the vent button on the compressor is not pressed.

  3. Remove the valve cap from the valve stem of the wheel, then connect the filling hose securely onto the valve.

  4. Ensure that the compressor’s power switch is Off.

  5. Detach the power cable from the bottom of the compressor and plug it into the vehicle’s 12V power socket, located in the trunk.

  6. Ensure the compressor is positioned on a level surface.

  7. To add air, switch On the compressor and inflate until the desired pressure is reached.

To release air, switch Off the compressor and then press and hold the vent button until the desired pressure is reached.

Note: The pressure gauge may read higher than the actual pressure when the compressor is On. To get an accurate tire pressure, turn the compressor Off.

  8. When finished adjusting the tire pressure, be sure to replace the valve cap on the wheel and store the compressor.

  9. Reset the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). See TPMS reset.
