Disconnecting the Charging Cable
Disconnecting the Charging Cable
Once charging is completed, press the button on the charging cable and pull to disconnect it from the charge port.
Note: The vehicle cannot be driven when the charging cable is connected to the charge port. If you attempt to shift out of P (Park), you will receive a notification on the Driver Display that the cable is connected, and the gear will not change.
Note: The vehicle can be driven while the charge port door is open, but you will receive a notification on the Driver Display indicating it is open.
Emergency manual charging cable disconnect
CAUTION: Manually releasing the charging cable is only recommended in instances where the charging cable button will not release it from the charge port.
If pressing the button on the charging cable will not release it, the vehicle has a manual disconnect.
Open the driver's door and locate the manual release cable between the door and the A-pillar. In parallel, gently pull both the manual release cable and the charging cable.
CAUTION: Pulling the release cable too forcefully could cause damage.
