Rear Seats Folding

Rear Seats Folding

WARNING: Always ensure that objects carried within the vehicle are secured properly. Unsecured items can cause death or serious injury in the event of an impact or sudden maneuver.

The split rear seat allows you to fold forward all or part of the seat backrest to increase the load-carrying area.

Before folding down a seat, ensure that any items on the seat or in the rear footwell are removed and the rear head restraints are in the lowest position. See Adjusting a Rear Head Restraint.

Note: The front seats may need to be moved forward to enable the rear seat to fold fully flat. See Adjusting the Front Seats.

To fold down a rear seat, pull the corresponding release handle.

After you feel the latch release, pull the seat backrest forward and down until you feel it lock in place.

Try to move the backrest up and down to ensure it remains locked into position.

Raising

To return the seat to its upright position, pull the release handle and push the backrest upright until you feel it lock into place.

Make sure the backrest is locked into position by trying to pull it forward.

WARNING: When the seat backrest is raised, make sure that the locking mechanism is fully engaged. Failure to do so greatly increases the risk of death and serious injury in the event of a collision or heavy braking.

Note: When returning the seat to its upright position, make sure that the seat belts are not trapped behind the backrest.
