Pairing a Bluetooth® Device

Pairing a Bluetooth® Device

Pairing a phone to your vehicle enables you to place and receive hands-free calls, and to access your phone’s contacts, messages, recent call list, and compatible apps. Once a phone is paired to the vehicle, it will automatically connect whenever it is in range.

To pair a device:

  1. Ensure that the device to be paired is in hand, powered on, and has Bluetooth® enabled.

  2. On the Central Touchscreen, tap > Connectivity.

  3. Set Bluetooth to On, then tap Available Devices.

  4. The system will scan for Bluetooth®-enabled discoverable devices in range. Tap your device’s name when it appears.

Note: If your device’s name does not appear when the scan has completed, check that the conditions in step 1 are met and press Scan for Device to scan again.

  5. When the pairing process begins, you will be prompted as shown.

  6. Compare the six-digit pairing codes displayed on your device and on the Central Touchscreen. If they match, tap Confirm to continue.

  7. Tap to toggle On/Off your sync preferences, then tap Done to continue.

Note: Permissions may be required from the mobile device for these features to work correctly. The mobile device will prompt you with its own dialogue.

Note: These settings can be updated later if you wish to change them. See Device Syncing and Preferences.

  8. Tap Done when pairing is successful.

  9. Tap Yes if you wish to allow Alexa access to your device’s contacts and SMS messages, or Cancel to disallow and continue.

Note: The prompt above is only shown when you are already signed in to Alexa on the vehicle. Otherwise, skip to the next step.

  10. When pairing setup is completed, your device’s name will appear under Paired Devices on the Connectivity screen.
